God,
Let Me Play Well
By Gregg Easterbrook God,
let me play well but fairly.
Help me to learn something that matters
once the game is over.
Let competition make me strong but never hostile.
Always let me help my opponent up.
Never catch me rejoicing in the adversity of others.
If I know victory, allow me to be happy;
if I am denied, keep me from envy.
Remind me that sports are just games.
If through athletics I set an example,
let it be a good one.

Making
a Difference
TF Monthly Award.
One of the traditions that I have bought over
from our old site, is our Monthly Award. As
I have stated more than once, these next two
years I am going to be turning over Ice Hockey
to John Junior, Field Hockey to Mary and Sports
Info to Hockey Bob. It is time for this greying
recovering alcoholic from Collingswood NJ to
be put out to pasture. With that in mind, I
discussed The Award with Hockey Bob last night
and I asked his opinion on who we should give
it to and I will honor his wishes.
Many times in my life I have stated that the
two men I learned most from in my life were
my Father John Senior and Robert "Hockey
Bob" Phillips. Dad taught me that determination
beats any quality and Bob truly sharpened my
communication skills.
I met Hockey Bob as a high school senior at
Bishop Eustace. He was the receivers coach for
the football team. Once finding out we were
from the same home town, Collingswood, NJ, he
took me under his wing. He truly made me feel
like a part of his family, I relationship I
still share with Bob, his wife, his three sons
and his daughter to this day. Let me tell you,
I was not always the easiest person to bond
with. But through the years we have spent most
of the Holiday seasons together. From those
memorable Christmas parties my parents would
throw to having Turkey with Bob and his family.
There was always a place for me at his table.
Always being a positive as he could year round,
Bob always would take that gift to the next
level during the Holiday Season. The Spirit
he always brings to the Holidays is truly something
special. We at TF have our own Version of "Father
Christmas" in Hockey Bob.
When I came calling about TeamFeriorSports.com,
he just asked what he could do to help. The
challenges in front of us will not be easy.
Our goals are set high and many feel they are
unobtainable, but He and I have a plan and kids
will play.
Bob, this is your month in more ways than one!
We have had a great run of over 28 years and
we are not half finished, I hope! You have been
more than a friend and mentor, Thank you! John

The Team Ferior Braintrust has visited the site
a few times over the last four and a half years.
These visits have been powerful and very moving.
Our prayers are to all involved.
The Team Ferior Mission Statement
"The mission of Team Ferior is to help
any deserving child or teen to play sports.
Money should never be a reason a child can not
be able to play a sport."
Team Ferior Battle Cry
Some years back, TF Founder John Vrana asked
his son John what Team Ferior meant to him.
He quickly replied, "Dad, Team Ferior is
not about giving up." From that day forward,
Team Ferior adapted the lifestyle statement,
"Never Give Up" as our Battle Cry.
The TF Promise
The Team Ferior Promise is short and very simple.
"The Kids Come First!" "Over
six years ago, I made a promise to a young fellow
name Alex Folino, in Pittsburgh, PA, that our
Kids would always come first. No matter how
tough it was, I have kept that promise and have
no plans to alter our course."
