Training

My philosophy on training is simple, I change the style of training every 6-8 weeks.

Going heavy in the 6 - 10 rep range takes a toll on the body, so you need to train smart, and at 41 years of age, i need to be smart about how I kill my self in the gym.

After 6-8 weeks of heavy training, i change up direction and go for more of a feel workout.....making sure that i walk away with a great pump.

Warming up properly is very important at my age, i take about 20 min before i'm ready to hit it hard in the gym.


Example of heavy and pump like workouts:

Heavy:

flat dumbbell bench press - 120/8 130/6
incline dumbbell bench press - 90/8 110/6
incline dumbbell fly - 60/ 10 80/8

Pump:

incline fly - 50's 2 sets of 12 -15 reps
incline dumbbell bench press - 70's 2 sets of 12 -15 reps
machine bench press superset with cable cross overs, 2 sets 12-15 reps
