Barbara
Harmer-Garcia has been training and competing
for over twenty years. She has won 5 Overall
trophies, placed in the top ten at national
level contests and placed in the top five
in all other competitions. Currently featured
in 3 of Jay Cutler, Mr. Olympia, DVD’s
helping him with his stage preparations.
She has competed over 40 times in her career.
Barb is featured in the January 2008 issue
of Ironman Magazine as the Overall Open
and Masters Women winner at the Venice Beach
Labor Day contest and will also be in the
Ironman (Feb) that covered the Venice Beach
Toy Drive.
Her educational background includes a Bachelors
degree in Physical Education, with and emphasis
on working with children with special needs
and a Masters degree in Education. She taught
both high school and college for over ten
years however, now she only teaches college
and serves almost 500 students a quarter.
She has taught aerobic activity classes
both public and for the school systems.
She teaches 6 classes of step aerobics a
week!
She went back to school as an adult, worked
and raised her children as a single parent.
Graduating first in her class in 1996. Her
high school experience includes working
at a high school that featured an integrated
curriculum and the program that she co-wrote
was awarded the California State Outstanding
Physical Education Program award in 2000.
Her knowledge base, years of training experience
and ability to teach can provide any one
in any condition with a very rewarding training
experience.
